Frequently asked questions
- Which images can be scanned?
- Photos, screenshots, and pages from newspapers or puzzle books. Results are best with the whole grid in frame and even lighting. If the grid is not found, its four corners can be placed by hand.
- Are filled-in digits and pencil marks read?
- Yes. Printed clues form the puzzle. Handwritten digits and pencil marks are read separately and can be carried over or left out before playing.
- What if a digit is misread?
- Any cell can be corrected before playing. The editor offers the scanner's next most likely readings for that cell first.
- Is an imported puzzle rated?
- Yes. A puzzle with a single solution receives a Peak Score from 1 to 100 and a difficulty band, and hints work as on any other puzzle.
- Can a puzzle string be imported instead?
- Yes. Paste it on the text import page; no scan is needed.
