Frequently asked questions

Is the Sudoku Book Maker free?
Yes. No account is required, the PDF carries no watermark and there is no limit on the number of books. Printing for personal, classroom or club use is permitted; resale is not. For commercial use, contact us.
How many puzzles can a book hold?
Up to 50, in any combination of the ten difficulty tiers. A 50-puzzle book is about 75 pages at one puzzle per page and about 45 at four per page, solutions included.
What paper size is used?
A4. Margins are equal on all sides and nothing prints within 17mm of an edge, so the layout is identical single-sided or double-sided. There is no bleed and no binding offset.
Are solutions included?
Yes. Every book ends with a solutions section, six grids to a page, and each puzzle lists the page number of its solution.
How is difficulty determined?
Each puzzle is solved by an engine limited to human techniques, with no guessing or backtracking, and receives a Peak Score from 1 to 100 based on the solve. The ten tiers are bands of that score.
Is the same book produced twice?
No. Each build draws a fresh selection from the library, so identical settings give different puzzles.
